TANK WARNING!
This cleans well, and is easy to use BUT

make sure you get one with the updated clean water tank - part number Solution Tank 42272104

Do NOT accept/buy a cleaner with the old faulty designed tank - model number 90001295.

These old tanks crack and leak at the drop of a hat. Tons of complaints made the company redesign the part.

Good deep cleaner/steamer, powerful brushes
Haven't had any problems with this. Used in a 3 bedroom, 2 story townhouse, with all rooms carpeted including the stairs, regularly during the last two years.

Prior to that, it was used in a large two bedroom condo with WHITE carpet, a cat and a kid for a year.

Used it to clean the carpet before moving and got stains out that were there before we moved in! We got all our deposit money back and even the crusty landlord was a bit surprised when he saw them. I truly believe he thought he was getting some of our money to replace that carpet for the future tenants (it was about 7-8 years old at that point) and I think he was shocked when he saw he couldn't pull that one on us.

Really gets the carpets clean for us and leaves them so much dryer than pro machines and rental ones have in the past. Within an hour or two we can use the rooms we've steam cleaned (versus a half day or longer with other machines we've tried).

The tank hasn't leaked on us, as some Hoover owners have stated it did for them. But we are pretty gentle with it, as we know what it cost us new and we do try to take care of it. We don't don't bang it around, aren't rough with it when removing attachments/the tank, don't use water in the tank that is too hot (over 120 degrees) that might hurt the seals, etc.

We've liked it for as long as we've had it and used it---since 2003.

Great stuff
Great carpet cleaner. Works great at getting out stains and dirt. But recommend buyers get the 128 oz. container for better value.

Pleasant smell, works well.
I have used the regular Hoover cleaning detergent and find the scent of this one much more pleasant. It gets the carpet clean and does so quickly. By the way, I, too, had to replace my Hoover All Terrain's clean water tank and I really missed using my machine while waiting for a replacement. All looks and smells great, once again...highly recommend
this detergent.

An Amazing Tool
We just purchaserd a new home and upon arrival things were not in good shape. The house was filthy and we needed to do something to get things on track. I ran out and bought the Hoover Steam Vac V2. After talking to a person who works with carpet for a living, we took some advice and avoided using any detergent when cleaning. We used only the HOT water from the Vac to dislodge the dirt. Apparently the detergent leaves residue behind that can actually ATTRACT more dirt. Using the water-only approach worked like a champ (If you want to use dtergent, the rinse mode of the V2 claims to remove most residue).

This is the best cleaning tool I have ever purchased. It did an amazing job on all our cparpets, and the house looks like new again. I would HIGHLY recommend this tool to anyone with high-traffic carpets, espcecially those with kids running on them.

Much better than the Bissel ProHeat
I have had a Bissel Pro-heat for about 2 years. New models still have not changed the features that drive me nuts. The tanks leak, I had to cut off the attachment hose, it kept falling down, and it randomly stops working. We cleaned our carpets 2 days ago with the Bissel, and then used the hoover today. The Hoover brought up black water! The carpets look better now than they ever did with the Bissel. Also, the carpets are mostly dry in about 2 hours without opening every window in the house.

The only things I could complain about with the hoover are:
1. The attachment hose seems unstable (like it might fall out eventually), but at least it can be removed, at stored on a clothes hanger!
2. The 1 gallon tank, same as all the others, gets used up quickly. (Don't quite know how you could solve that problem easily)

Overall, I am very impressed with the Hoover Steamvac V2.

Excellent Cleaner!
I have two dogs who are in and out of the house. So I needed a carpet cleaner to do the deep cleaning. This one really does the job. It's easy to use and extremely effective. I'm always amazed at how dirty the waste water tank is. I had a Bissell machine a few years ago that was awkward, hard to use, and quickly fell apart. So far, this machine seems very durable. However, time will tell.

Best "non-commercial" carpet cleaner
You will be amazed (and perhaps disgusted) to find out just how dirty your carpets really are after using this unit (even after vacuuming with a "high-end" vacuum cleaner). It REALLY pulls out the dirt. But make no mistake: this is no "miracle worker". If your carpets are soiled with pet stains, you will want to pre-treat stain areas by spraying (and thereafter scrubbng with a scrub sponge) the stained areas with the cleaning solution prior to using the unit. Also, after 3 or 4 months, most pet stains will reappear. This is not a negative reflection on the Hoover cleaner, but more a reflection on the realities (and limitations) of carpets, carpet cleaners, and pet stains. I am not aware of any other carpet cleaner (commercial or non-commercial) that can do any better than this unit, and believe me, I have looked. Further, the performance of the unit will depend on your willingness to clean out pet fur and/or other debris from the filters. As said, it is not a miracle cleaner - you have to give it some help by cleaning out the filters so that it can perform at its best. To my knowledge, there is no "miracle carpet cleaner" that ovbiates the need to peform essential basic maintenance on the unit.

This product also wins accolades for not leaking cleaning solution from the primary tank or the recovery tank. It's a very "tight unit", liquid-wise.

If you want clean carpets, and don't want to drop $1000 or more on a true "commercial" cleaner, this is the way to go.

Best cleaner I have ever used
This is a professional strength cleaner that is easy to use and gives great results on carpeted floors as well as upholstery. Drying time is super fast because it doesn't leave behind too much water and the brush action gets everything perfectly clean. With two toddlers, I use this all the time and just love it.

I have white carpet and a dog who loves to rub herself all over it. Didn't want to pay professional cleaners every month or so. This vac does the job quickly and easily (after you read the directions!) Well designed and fast drying. Very glad I didn't get one with a smaller tank than the one gallon. Recommended

Good cleaning capability, Excellant buy !!!
I bought this item after doing a lot of research online and offline. Its a very good buy for that price. The positive things about this unit are;

1) Very good cleaning power. Good suction.
2) Easy to move around. The handling is good.
3) Seperate space for cleaning agent and water.
4) Very easy to clean. Almost everything is detachable including the brushes on the bottom.

The only negative thing I found about this unit is the noise level. Its very loud.

Hoover steam vac dual v
I purchased this machine one year ago. I love how it cleans and it is easy to use. I have 2 dogs and a cat and it is great whhen the dog has an accident on my beige rugs. the only problem whhich I will address with Hoover is that after a few uses one of the latches on the recovery tank broke in half. My husband was able to repair that with Crazy glue. this forces me to be extra careful when closing that particular latch. This model I have has the clean water and detergent tank attached to one another. It states the detergent tank is NOT to be detached or removed form its postion. I used it this past week and the detergent solution holder fell off. Now I have "jimmy-rigged" the solution on onto the clean water tank with heavy tape. It works, but the problem is that a piece of plastic broke off the bottom and it has not sit correctly onto the machine to dispense the detergent in the way it is supposed to. Other than these two problems I love the machine. I know i could purchase a replacement tank but I feel the machine is too knew for this to happen

It works
I used half of the recommended amount, and my carpet came out sparklingly clean. Go over the just cleaned carpet while it is still wet with only water in the vac reservoir. You will pick up more dirt and remove any shampoo that is left in the carpet.

Hoovers Cleaner
Works perfectly with my Hoovers Steamvac. Will continue buying, since it seems to work better than the other brands out.

Only a slight odor
We used this with our Hoover carpet cleaner. It did a great job getting up the stains and lingering cat urine odor in the carpet.

While it claims to be "fragrance-free," there is a slight odor. It's WAY better than anything deliberately perfumed, but I'm very sensitive to odors and chemicals, and it bothered me a little (slight headache). Still, it's the least offensive smelling product we've used. We'll keep using it.

Worked as expected.

Did foam more, however.

Did not have any negative experience with the product, but will buy the regular one referenced above in the future, since it is cheaper, and does the same job!

Expectations weren't met
Because this advertised Oxy I expected a really clean, fresh scent and powerful cleaning. I got neither. Don't get me wrong, it works, but it works as well as the regular shampoo that comes with the carpet cleaner.

Have Pets? Get This!
I have one dog with a weak stomach and bile stains are almost impossible to remove from the carpet. I used this Oxy formula, and voila! Stain is out and absolutely no ghost of a stain.


This is highly recommended if you have tough, if not, impossible stains to remove.
