Hoover--still at the top of my list!

We are now a 'two-vacuum' household. When I moved my art studio to the second floor of my house, I decided that a nearby vacuum cleaner was a necessity. (I have owned another Hoover vacuum cleaner for many years, but carrying it up and down the stairs was not one of my favorite tasks.) This product is noticeably lighter than my older model, but it appears to be just as well made and does a terrific job. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.

Embedded Dirt Finder is an eye opener

I didn't realize what a terrible job my old vacuum was doing until I bought this one. I thought something was wrong with this unit because the Dirt Finder light stayed red more than I thought it should. After a thorough once over, and after the light stayed green, this unit removed a lot of dirt that was down in my carpet. I started my search for a new vacuum on Consumer Reports and then settled for this unit because of its excellent ability to get dirt and pet hair. On the others that were highly rated but more expensive here at Amazon and other places, the performance was equal but they were laden with attachments that I didn't need. I am very happy with the strong performance and low emissions. It appears Hoover has had some dependability issues so time will tell.

Pleased

It come promptly which is good. It took about half an hour to assemble. But it works really well. I like that fact that it has 2 allergen filtration filters. That was the main reason for my purchase. It was the only vacuum I found that was close to the last vacuum I had, the Hoover Caddy Vac. I also like the fact on the Wind Tunnel that there's a light that tells you when to check the bag, which is a great feature. I recommend this vacuum.

Powerful!

Talk about power. This thing's a hoss. At first, maneuvering in tight spaces (particularly stairs) is a bit of a work-out. But you get handier after two or three times using the machine - that's when you really fall in love with it. I strongly recommend, particularly for pet-owners (three cats and a dog here).

great value and great vacuum

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever had. I have always used Hoover, but the ease in using this vacuum and the suction is fabulous!Also the dirt filter bag keeps the dust in and there is no dust in the air while vacuuming...Great find !

Great vacuum cleaner

This product was delivered as ordered. This Hoover replaced a Euraka product that was really bad (I would NOT recommend any Eureka product!!).

Great Update!

I owned a hoover before that was over 10 years old. So, I decided to up-date my vacuum and after carefully researching what was out there I decided to purchase another Hoover. I couldn't be happier! I have a condo in the city so I didn't want some mammoth machine and most of my space is hardwood floors with area rugs and this vacuum is perfect for that. The vacuum strength is very good and the handling is perfect around corners and under furniture. The Hoover company did a great job with this vacuum.

Beautiful Blue Machine

This lovely vacuum and all the accessories arrived as scheduled. It assembled easily with just a screwdriver. The low price had been a surprise so I was very pleased about the self-propelled feature that I don't remember being mentioned in the description. When I turned the vacuum on it nearly got away from me because I wasn't expecting this feature. The red and green (dirt/clean) lights are wonderful. It's good to know that there is one brand that has maintained the quality it is known for.

Great vacuum and reasonable price

I still use two Hoover vacuums which I purchased in the 1970s and have always been happy with Hoover. This vacuum is also a winner. And the price is quite reasonable. Hoover never disappoints!

Well worth the cost!

I just got this and put it together within five minutes time and gave it an immediate test. It works GREAT, this coming from a guy. It cleans very well and sucks up carpet debris flawlessly, the light is convenient too, along with the debris indicator lights. I definitely recommend the purchase.

The Best Low Price Upright on the Market

If you are looking for a great, low priced, bagged upright, this is the one. I looked for a very long time and it was very difficult to find a quality upright for under $200. Most of the uprights in the big box stores were bagless (what a mess). I gave this one a shot based on Hoover's great video. I have been using it for a while now and it does a great job. The HEPA Filter works great and the suction is amazing. Sure, if you're used to $800 vacuum cleaners, this one may not blow you away. However, if you're on a budget and still want a great clean, give this one a try. Save your money on the self-propelled version, this one is very light and easy to handle.

Last Vacuum You'll Buy....

I purchased this vacuum after reading the reviews on just about every vacuum the internet offers and I settled on this one. I received it within days of ordering, attached the handle, put on the attachments, stood up and turned it on. Before I knew it I was chasing it around the living room!!! I LOVE THIS VACUUM!!! It is powerful and great looking. I chose the bagged vacuum after throwing my brand new bagless Eureka out in the front yard after about two months, which followed the Dirt Devil I had thrown in the front yard. My husband said he's not picking anymore vacuums up out of the front yard. He won't have to worry about that, this is definately a keeper.

GREAT

This is a smart vacume--gets all the dirt and tells you when carpet is clean. I have allergies and asthsma and this is much better for me than the bagless ones. No dust escapes as I am vacuming. LOVE IT!

Great vacuum for a great price

I bought this about 3 months ago to replace an older, discontinued Sanyo. I was reluctant to buy it because of previous experience with Hoover, but so far it has performed above my expectations. It does a great job on rugs and hard floors, and you can't beat the price anywhere. It remains to be seen how long the machine will hold up, but so far I am very satisfied.

I love this vaccum

This vacuum really gets the dirt up and is light weight. It is loud but not louder than any other vacuum I've used. I tried Simplicity but went back to Hoover. This is a great value. I would agree with some of the other reviews, the attachment hose is way too short but there is a longer one available to purchase seperately.

very pleased

the Hoover U5491-900 Wind Tunnel is all it is said to be. Good suction-gets the corners- easy to use and good weight. The attachments are easy to get to and makes cleaning more fun!

Excellent Buy,

We had an old vaccuum that was very ineffective. We finally decided to put it to rest, and replaced it with the Hoover Wind Tunnel. Wow, what a difference! We have a dog that sheds really bad, and our old vaccuum could not get the hair, the Hoover does an excellent job, even on dog hair. I read reviews from all over to make sure I purchased the right vacuum for me. Well, this vacuum is great. It's light in weight and has great suction. My carpets look new again! Excellent Vacuum/Great Price!

My 14-year-old vacuum died, and I was forced to search for a replacement. What I expected from a vacuum, this Hoover has it. My daughter has severe allergies, and it was mandatory that the vacuum use micro-filtration disposable bags. This vacuum is amazing. I can vacuum a room and not have to worry that it is going to set off allergic reactions in my child. It cleans well, and it does not leave your house smelling "dusty" as a result. Beautiful blue color is just a bonus and the attachments are stored right on board. I am glad I purchased this for a great price and free shipping.

Fantastic vacuum

We checked Amazon reviews & Comsumers reports & found that the Hoover Anniversary Bag Vacuum was, in fact, the BEST BUY for the dollar. We have friends who bought Dyson & others and they all like our Hoover better. It may have been a strange topic for a Valentine party but it did come up. I got out my Hoover, intentionally spilled dog food, saw dust and a little salt on the carpet & went to work cleaning up the mess. Everyone was amazed at the "Dirt Light" & how quickly the Hoover did the job. I recommend this product without reservation.

Absolutely great!

Love this vacuum. Strong suction, easy to push. Cleans like a dream--attachments are easy to use. Definitely worth the price. Wasn't hard to put together. It's a great machine.
